Alongside our next repair cafe on 14th March we’ll also be running an upcycling workshop.
Upcycling, also known as creative reuse, is the process of transforming waste materials, useless, or unwanted products into new items of better quality and environmental value. Like Huddersfield Repair Cafe, the idea behind upcycling is to avoid sending reusable products into landfill sites by giving them a new lease of life.
In this month’s workshop we’ll be upcycling old t-shirts into reusable shopping bags, old jumpers into cosy cushion covers and making fabric flower brooches for Mother’s Day from scrap fabric.
If you’d like to get involved pop along between 11AM and 3PM on 14th March. If you have an old sweater or t-shirt you’d like to give a new lease of life, bring it along. No previous experience needed, materials for flower brooches will be provided.
